The Conservatório de Dança de Almada (Almada Dance Conservatory) is once again offering an intensive summer course for children and young people aged 6 to 13.
The 2026 Summer Course aims to provide the community with the experience of dance and the pleasure of using the body as a form of expression. It includes exposure to contemporary dance, classical dance, dramatic expression, music, urban dances, and more.
This intensive course is structured as a Dance Laboratory, functioning as an experimentation and artistic creation project where, with the help of the teachers involved, participants can let their imagination and creativity flow.
In the previous edition, around 40 children and young people participated in this experience, and many promise to return after experiencing a memorable week full of discovery, creativity, and sharing. In a familiar and welcoming environment, accompanied by teachers, participants had the opportunity to explore different artistic languages, enjoy outdoor and studio activities, and discover how dancing can be fun.
The team highlights how, in just one week, it's possible to observe a surprising evolution, where children and young people gain the confidence to transform themselves into true artists.
The course is aimed at everyone who already dances, but also those who dream of experiencing dance for the first time. At the end of each week, participants present their work in a special moment of sharing with family and friends.
In 2026, the Summer Course takes place during the weeks of July 20-24 and 27-31, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The price varies between €150/week for Group A [6 to 9 years old] and €160/week for Group B [10 to 13 years old]. Students of the Conservatório de Dança de Almada receive a 5% discount.
Applications are made through an online form (available here), in two phases: 1st phase - until May 30th (5% discount, cumulative for internal students); 2nd phase - until June 30th (subject to available places, may be placed on a waiting list).
